Most of the beauty books I have come across only discuss one subject: makeup. But, there are a few that incorporate other things, which Riku Campo does in his book Best in Beauty: An Ultimate Guide to Makeup and Skincare Techniques, Tools, and Products.
Best in Beauty is 46 chapters worth of beauty subjects, ranging from Facial Care, Hair, Eyebrows, Mineral Makeup, Eyes, Lips, Teenage Skin Care and Makeup, Dewy Makeup, Bold Colors, Cosmetics Care, Traveling with Cosmetics, and so many more!
Although many of the chapters on makeup are similar in content to other beauty books, I like Best in Beauty in particular because Campo gives specific, detailed instructions for each skin type. Many other beauty books talk about skin types as if they were all the same. Campo also gives a step by step guide (by skin type) of an AM and PM skincare routine.
I was also happy to see an entire chapter devoted to nutrition. I am a firm believer in that saying, “You are what you eat.” Food is typically the cause of breakouts and other skincare issues, and that is often overlooked by many people. It was nice to see Campo talk about the importance of a well-balanced diet.
Best in Beauty is a great beauty book to have in your collection because it really does consider every facet of beauty, not just makeup!
