What’s in My Travel Makeup Bag: Disney World Edition

As some of you may know, I was in Walt Disney World over the weekend. I left on Saturday and got home Sunday night, so it was just an overnight trip. I tried not to pack too much makeup, because A) it would probably melt off and B) I didn’t want to spend my whole trip putting makeup on. This blog post is just the makeup I took with me; my sunscreen, skincare, and other toiletries were packed separately. I used the Vera Bradley Medium Cosmetic bag. It fits a decent amount of products, but if I go away from more than 2 days I use the larger size. Also, this will give you a look at some of the products I am currently loving.

Even when I try to keep it minimal, it still seems like a lot!

Face Products

Instead of foundation, I brought the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm (I’m the shade Snow Glow) and  a sample size of Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Cream. I only packed the Dr. Jart+ BB Cream in case the sun was strong and I wound up getting a bit of a tan, this product is a bit more self-adjusting to your skin color. I also packed MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NW 20), Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (Transparent), and the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer (which I have transferred into a jar to save space). I don’t like to transfer my foundations into travel jars for some reason, so luckily the Too Faced BB Cream did not take up too much space.

Eyebrow Products

For my eyebrows I am currently using Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash through the ends and MAC Omega eye shadow through the front (using a MAC 266). And as you can see, I am trying to grow my eyebrows back. I had a bad salon waxing about 10 years that left me with thin brows. I have been growing them back naturally over the past few years, but I still have these weird, bald spots. So that is what the RapidBrow is for. And yes – it works very well.

Eye Products

Because I’m in Disney (and because I have very oily eyelids), I opted for shadow sticks inside of powder eye shadow. I packed Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Sin and Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige. I’m not a huge eyeliner fan for everyday, and especially not in DIsney World, where my makeup has been known to melt off. However, I am seriously loving Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in the shade Taupe. I bought it about a month and a half ago and have been wearing it on my waterline just about everyday. For mascara, it’s Estee Lauder Sumptuous Waterproof. I have never found any waterproof mascara that actually works and so far this one is doing its job; I did not have mascara all down my face by the end of the day.

Cheek, Lip, & Nails

The blushes I brought were NYX Cinnamon and MAC Fleet Fast (which was limited edition from their Hey Sailor! collection). Cinnamon may be my favorite blush that I have purchased recently. But I am a sucker for anything orange. Because I’m paranoid about lipstick melting in my handbag (and I was looking for less fuss) I brought along the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in the colors Sweetheart (hot pink) and Rendezvous (orange). I’m obsessed with these things. They have great staying power and are easy to apply throughout the day.

Even though I already had my nails painted, I always travel with what ever color I’m wearing in case it needs to be touched up. This time it was Julep’s polish in Abbie.

I tried to bring as few brushes as possible, which is tough when you love makeup brushes as much as makeup. Here I have a MAC 138, four brushes from Real Techniques (Buffing Brush, Setting Brush, Deluxe Crease Brush, and Domed Shadow Brush), and a MAC 266. I also have a pair of Shiseido lash curlers.

Some of the makeup I applied at home on Saturday, but I also bring it along in case anything needs to be touched up later on in the day.

Do you try to pack light when you travel? Does it actually work out?

Great selection :) even I pack something like this when I’m on a short trip. My listicks have melted in the past in this florida weather so these days I carry a lip pencil and clear gloss… but your idea of lip stains seems much better :)

You did not overpack! You had just the right amount. I loved the lip stain! I might have to invest in one :) It’s definitely good for extreme heat.

Ooh, fun vacation! I love snooping in other bloggers’ beauty bags, so this post was great! I also own the Revlon Balm Stains in Sweetheart and Rendezvous and love them! The Too Faced BB Cream is great too :)
