amika Nourishing Mask for Hair

amika_nourishinghairmask

I had received a sample of the amika Nourishing Mask in my May Birchbox. Initially, I didn’t think much of it because I have tried many of the hair masks on the market and none of them were miracle workers. Some were definitely better than others, but none of them really repaired my hair in the way I wanted it to. All I can say is thank you, Birchbox!

This mask by amika is fantastic! It contains seaberry, which is something I have been using in a couple of beauty products lately, and I actually prefer it to argan oil. After reading about seaberry (or sea-buckthorn, whatever you would like to call it), I found out that this plant is high in vitamin E, amino acids, and is the one of the highest plant sources of vitamin C.

This product can be used as a weekly treatment or as an everyday conditioner. I have yet to use it as a weekly treatment, but I have used it as my conditioner. After I wash my hair, I leave it on for 2-3 minutes and then rinse. My ends, which were extremely crunchy and damaged are now repaired. They aren’t absolutely perfect, but it’s a huge improvement for someone who has colored treated and heat-styled hair.

There are two sizes available: 60ml or 500ml.

Availability: Birchbox & Amazon, $12 & $40.

Do you typically use hair masks? What do you think of this particular product?

I have yet to try any hair masks. I have only used deep conditioner and leave in conditioner. This looks like it does the trick.
