Ipsy July 2013

In case you missed my post last month, Ispy is a monthly subscription service, like Birchbox, where you get deluxe beauty samples mailed to you for $10/month.

This is my second month doing Ipsy and so far I love it. I also have a subscription to Birchbox, but I find that those boxes can be hit or miss. Ipsy seems to do a better range of products. In this bag I received 2 skincare products, 2 makeup items, and a haircare product. For me at least, I mainly seem to get skincare and haircare in my Birchbox; I think I have received makeup 2 or 3 times.

I think the bag this month is pretty cute. I love the color! I heard a few people complain about this bag, but I quite like it. It reminds me of makeup bags and pencil cases I had as a kid in the 90s. The theme this month for Ipsy is Beach Beauty, so I’m assuming the bag is pretty much waterproof.

Derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub

Coola Mineral Sunscreen SPF 20

Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray

BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush

Overall, I think this is a pretty good bag. The only product I have used so far is the microdermabrasion scrub and I really like it. It also smells like key lime pie, so extra plus! I may wind up doing a full review on it after I use it a couple of more times.

I was most excited by the BH eyeshadows and the Pop Beauty lip crayon. I really love the eyeshadows by BH Cosmetics; I think I have about 4 or 5 of their palettes. And we all know I’m a huge sucker for lip products, especially anything coral or orange.

Do you subscribe to Ipsy or any other beauty subscription services?

I love it. Sometimes you get a bad box (or bag), but there is usually at least one item I really like. It’s also fun to try out new products. And I love getting mail.
