I picked up the Julep Pomegranate Body Creme about a month ago because I was looking for a more autumnal scent, since most of my body lotions are too summery.
Apart from the obvious pomegranate, this body moisturizer also contains papaya and shea butter, as well as three oils: jojoba, kukui nut, and avocado. Apparently the pomegranate and papaya act as exfoliants, which may be what makes this stuff so good.
I know this is called “body creme,” but in my mind I had expected this to be a little thicker, almost resembling a similar consistency to Julep’s Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting. Regardless of the slightly thin consistency, I actually find this to be pretty moisturizing. I tend to go for a lighter body lotion during the day and a body butter at night, and I have to say that this stuff keeps my skin pretty hydrated.
This lotion is also fast absorbing, however, I can very faintly smell it as the day goes on. I know this is supposed to be a pomegranate scent, but it actually also reminds me of linen – you know, those candles called Fresh Linen or whatever. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this smells like fruity linen, if that is even a real thing. Based on my bizarre description, this would not have been a scent I would have expected to like. But, it reminds me of being at my aunt & uncles house during Thanksgiving, so I wound up really liking it.
The regular price of this moisturizer is $18.00, but it is currently in the sale for $6.99. I’m not sure if it is on sale because it will be discontinued. I hope not!
Availability: Julep, $6.99 (sale price).
