LUSH Rudolph is a Limited Edition Fresh Mask, available in-stores only at LUSH this holiday season. Rudolph is formulated specifically for dry, winter skin and claims to “soothe and soften dry, irritated skin.”
For those who are not familiar with the Fresh Face Masks, these products are all-natural and preservative-free and must be kept in the refrigerator. I quite like the Fresh Face Masks in general, because they are natural and have ingredients I can actually pronounce. The only downside with this product is that the expiry date is typically 2-3 weeks after it’s purchased.
So what did I think of Rudolph?
Even though it has not gotten cold in Florida yet, my skin type is dry and sensitive, so I was very excited to try this product. It is supposed to contain a red, gummy-type thing in the center of the mask to make this mask Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer themed. Mine did not come with it, which I actually prefer. Anyone who knows me personally will already know this – but I am not a fan of gummy candies and things with a similar texture.
The first time I used Rudolph I left it on for 10 minutes and I found that to be a bit too long; it left my skin feeling a bit more dry. The second time I used this I left it on for 5 minutes, which was the perfect amount of time for my skin. Afterwards (and even the next day) my skin looked quite glowing and more nourished, overall. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about is the scent – it kind of smells like a salad.
If you are looking for a deep cleaning mask, Rudolph would not be for you. But, if you are looking for a mask to help with dry skin, I would definitely recommend this product. My only tip is that I would make sure to exfoliate the day before to get off any dead skin to ensure that the mask isn’t sitting on that topical layer of dead skin (gross, I know).
