Attack of the Taupe Nail Polish

One of my recent obsessions has been taupe colored nail polish. This is a shade that I never would have worn a few years ago – but for some reason I have been loving it lately!

Taupe is a great, classic shade for anytime during the year, but I especially like it during the fall and winter. Since winter is almost over, I thought I would feature some of my favorites before it’s too late.

Alaina by Julep is a great shade if you are looking for a lighter taupe. This is also the perfect shade of taupe for the springtime!

My favorite all-around taupe is by Nicka K, in the shade Classic Taupe. I received this polish in my December Ipsy bag and I have to say, I was very impressed by it. One that is similar is OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques! (which is one of OPI’s more famous shades). You Don’t Know Jacques! is slightly darker than Classic Taupe by Nicka K, but if I had to choose one it would definitely be the Nicka K polish. Although they are similar, I included both because OPI is easier to find in stores.

Another recent favorite of mine has been Sable Collar by Essie. This shade is slightly different from the other three because it’s a bit more of a purple-taupe and has a beautiful, shimmery finish instead of a cream finish.

Do you wear taupe nail polish? Do any of these polishes spark your interest?

I just bought a light taupe cream that I haven’t worn yet. It is the Julie G brand, only available at Rite Aid (at least in my area). I did one nail. The formula is pretty good. I have several Julie G polishes and the creams are all great formulas.
