Usually in the springtime I am all about brights and pastels, but this year have I been preferring something a bit more muted or dark. In the past I loved to go crazy and put neons on my toenails, but this spring I have been gravitating toward darker polishes because I feel like if I do wear something brighter on my hands it won’t clash.
I know all four of these kind of look about the same, but this has really been the sort of polish I have been using. I don’t want to lie and say I have been loving other shades just to make the nail polish featured in this post seem more diverse.
L to R:
Essie Butler Please: a true, royal blue.
Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto: an obvious, navy blue that will not be mistaken for black (I know this line of polish is now discounted at Sephora, but many brands have similar shades – this was just the one I had in my collection).
Julep Octavia: navy with slight purple tones (This shade is similar to Blue Grotto, but a tad more purple in person).
OPI William Tell Me About OPI: blackened plum; it can look black or purple depending on the lighting.
