Recent Pedicure Favorites | Spring 2014

Usually in the springtime I am all about brights and pastels, but this year have I been preferring something a bit more muted or dark. In the past I loved to go crazy and put neons on my toenails, but this spring I have been gravitating toward darker polishes because I feel like if I do wear something brighter on my hands it won’t clash.

I know all four of these kind of look about the same, but this has really been the sort of polish I have been using. I don’t want to lie and say I have been loving other shades just to make the nail polish featured in this post seem more diverse.

L to R:

Essie Butler Please: a true, royal blue.

Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto: an obvious, navy blue that will not be mistaken for black (I know this line of polish is now discounted at Sephora, but many brands have similar shades – this was just the one I had in my collection).

Julep Octavia: navy with slight purple tones (This shade is similar to Blue Grotto, but a tad more purple in person).

OPI William Tell Me About OPI: blackened plum; it can look black or purple depending on the lighting.

It’s funny you say you’ve been using similar colors lately — I have too. I’ve been on a pink to pinky coral mood lately even though those aren’t normally my go-to shades. Really need to get Essie Butler Please. Didn’t care for it when I first saw it, but it’s really starting to grow on me.

I no longer try to wear pastels in the spring cause they just don’t work for me. I just wear whatever I’m feeling at the moment. Although I do save the few bright colors I own for summer.

I love Orly La Vida Loca …thanks to you. It’s bright hot pink looks well on me. I also like Essie Butler Please. Another I like this year is Essie In the Cabana. In past years it was Illamasqua Jo’Mina, I still like it just haven’t used it yet this season.
